The winemaking project set up by Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza in 1994 started out, as they confess, with few resources but plenty of ideas. Compañía de Vinos de Telmo Rodríguez has grown and grown based on journeys to discover a complex, unique and amazingly diverse winemaking country with a rich range of spectacular landscapes.   One fine example of their project is Gaba do Xil Tinto, the latest creation of Telmo Rodriguez in his never-ending search for new and unique terroirs. A fantastic expression of an inland Atlantic Mencia wine whose vines, planted in clay and slate soils, ensure the finished product can boast freshness, expressiveness and minerality.
