The Raventós de Alella Blanc Allier is the wine which we all used to know before as Marqués de Alella Allier, one of the first Spanish Chardonnays to be fermented and matured in French oak barrels. Despite the change in name, the wine's style remains the same, a fact we're extremely pleased about.
This is a full, oily wine, the opposite of a fresh and fruity white. The oak's toasted notes mingle with a hint of citrus oils giving a scent of liqueur to the body that has plenty of volume. Quince, white pepper, white blossom petals, ginger... the aromas seem to multiply each time we swirl the glass. It's elegant on entry and reaches every corner of the palate, filling it with refinement and character. Its lactic touch and excellent balance between body and acidity prolong the memory of our last sip, leading us inevitably back to the glass in search of a few more drops of this majestic wine born in the granite soils of tiny Alella.
Enjoy it with blue fish (sea or gilt-head bream) baked in the oven and we can assure you that you'll be well pleased with our recommendation.
