Taberner 2017

A great wine from Andalucia that stands out distinctively due to the depth and breadth of its aromas, now richly enhanced by a new set of nuances supplied by the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (the first vintage was a single varietal Syrah). This wine provides sound proof of its elegance and distinction; it is powerful, with excellent fruit, and well-balanced, bringing great credit to an area not known until now for producing top quality red wines, namely the region of Cádiz. A dark cherry colour and dense in appearance, the wine has a harmonious and elegant nose, displaying aromas of preserved fruit, plums, toasty and roast coffee notes, fine aldehydes and balsamic hints. It is flavoursome, balanced, creamy and refined on the palate, manifesting mature tannins and good acidity. Nicely fresh, it has good length and persistence. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and afterwards for a year in bottle.
