Torre do Olivar Expresion Treixadura 2023

Pazo do Mar Expresión is a Ribeiro wine made only with Treixadura grapes from the Torre do Olivar vineyard. It could be called an Estate Wine because the grapes only come from a single vineyard which provides a homogeneity of the harvested grapes influenced by similar soil and climate characteristics which will clearly reflect the particular characteristics of the estate. The Torre do Olivar comprises 110.000 m² of land on terraces on a hillside in the Ribera del Miño Ourensano, its soils are clayey over sedimentary schist and the climate is clearly influenced by the Atlantic with warm summers. The vineyard was planted in 2002, although there are records of vine cultivation on the estate dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. The grapes are harvested by hand in small boxes of 15 kg capacity and a double selection of the bunches is made in the vineyard and in the winery, followed by pressing and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Afterwards, the wine remains in contact with the lees for approximately 5 months, until it is bottled.Treixadura is the queen variety in Ribeiro and provides fresh wines, with aromas of fresh fruit (apple, stone fruit...) and light floral components, with a fresh acidity that invites to continue drinking and a very pleasant aftertaste.
