Carmelo Rodero Valtarreña 2020

This is a singular wine created from the best grapes of a single plot, 'Valtarreña', using a blend of 75% Tinta del País (Tempranillo), 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot. The selected grapes are sourced from the winery's own vineyards, aged between 45-55 years old, where very low yields are obtained.A bright, dark cherry-red in colour, this wine reveals black fruits in an array of complex aromas that include hints of coffee, leather, spices and toasty notes. Displaying a silky, unctuous feel on the palate, it is meaty and powerful with great balance and structure, and an endless finish.Aged for 30 months in 225-litre Bordeaux-style French (60%) and American (40%) oak barrels, which are on average one and a half years old.
