Marqués de Riscal Gran Reserva 2017

All the grapes used to make Marqués de Riscal Gran Reserva come from vineyards over 80 years old. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the different lots are tasted separately and the final blend is aged for two and a half years in French oak, plus a further three years in the bottle before being released onto the market. Bigarreau cherry colour with violet hues and brick-red rims. The nose is complex and balsamic, with the aromas of long ageing subtly overpowering the fruity aromas; hints of undergrowth, truffles and toasted wood. The palate is harmonious, captivating and elegantly tannic. A lingering, aristocratic and spicy finish.
